Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the data?

As already mentioned above, it is the most accurate data. Most prices are aged between a few minutes and a few hours. If a price is older than 48 h it will not be shown. Likelihood of showing a price near to 48 h is also very low.

What about the colors in the list view?

It should help you finding the cheapest (or nearest) station at a glance, without the need to read the prices or distances. Basically green means good - Red means bad.

I checked the prices on monday morning and saw that there were fewer prices visible than the other days. Why?

Transactions from fleet cards, direct feed from leading chains and so on mostly do not happen on weekends, so the data starts to get more accurate over the day.

Why I see only a few prices?

If you choose "Current Location" only stations around you will be shown that make sense. A station that is 100 miles away will not be very efficient, since your cost to get there is higher than the amount you would save. If you want do show multiple locations choose "Multiple Waypoints/Route", if you wanna know prices on a route, mark the route checkbox.

Comparison

Pure GasBuddy data would only bring up 2 prices at the same time.
250 percent more prices!
No, this is not a case where FuelHound
looks good in comparison.
This is just a random comparison, could
be done with any other city.
Another non arbitrary example. Stanwood, Washington. 12 prices within 36 hours Pure GasBuddy data would only bring up 8 prices at the same time.
50 percent more prices!
Again, this is not a case where FuelHound
looks good in comparison.
This is just a random comparison, could
be done with any other city.
